About
Over 10 years across financial planning and the data engineering underneath it — now applied one client at a time.
I am Jeffrey Pooley, a finance leader who pairs strategic and financial judgment with the technical depth to execute it in data. Good analytics starts with knowing which questions matter and ends with the models and pipelines that answer them reliably. Most of the value is in connecting the two.
I have built that connection in a range of financial and strategic roles, including buy-side M&A at Deloitte, corporate finance and FP&A operations across software and device companies, and even technical accounting at the FASB. In each role I’ve built scalable systems and processes that drive decision making across the organization.
Why “Next Level”
Next Level Analytics is my independent practice helping clients address their financial reporting, strategy, and data needs. The “Next Level” name represents two fundamental ideas.
The first is the obvious one: finance teams are always looking to take their analytics to the next level, leveraging best-in-class infrastructure, business intelligence tools, and AI-enabled processes. I can help with that.
The second is a working principle. In analytics, the level you aggregate at decides the answer you get. Aggregating at a customer cohort level can hide customer churn behind other customer expansion. Aggregating at a low granularity means that healthy customers and trends can get lost in product swap or transaction noise. The key is finding the right level.
